Dr. Rebecca Edmiston is a pianist dedicated to collaboration, pedagogy, and community engagement. She was honored to become the Staff Accompanist at her alma mater, Liberty University, in the fall of 2025. Since 2024, she has been touring nationally as the pianist/organist with Tim Zimmerman and The King's Brass. Some of her favorite highlights from touring are performing at Ligonier National Conference in Orlando, FL and performing in the orchestra at the Florida premier of Dan Forrest’s Creation. As a vocal coach, Dr. Edmiston has worked at Interlochen Center for the Arts and Music on Site, Inc. She has also been invited to perform at Scheherazade Music Festival, Emerald Coast Chamber Music Festival, and The Collaborative Piano Institute.

A committed educator, Dr. Edmiston is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music with Music Teachers National Association (MTNA). She has worked as a piano instructor at Allegro Music School in Lynchburg, VA, Levine School of Music in Washington, D.C, and Thomasville Road Academy of the Arts in Tallahassee, FL. Her recent treatise entitled Solo and Ensemble Repertoire as a Pedagogical Approach for Pre-Collegiate Collaborative Pianists is the launching point for her recent initiatives in collaborative piano pedagogy, including directing Young Collaborative Pianists Workshops and leading a Collaborative Duo class at Allegro Music School. She has given presentations at International Keyboard Collaborative Arts Society CollabFest, MTNA National Conference, and MTNA National Collegiate Pedagogy Symposium.

 

Dr. Edmiston earned DM and MM degrees in collaborative piano at Florida State University. As a graduate assistant in collaborative piano at FSU, she enjoyed numerous opportunities performing in recitals and working as a rehearsal pianist for mainstage opera productions. She also earned BM degrees in piano performance and choral music education at Liberty University. Her teachers have included Valerie Trujillo, Timothy Hoekman, Tad Hardin, and Lenny Seidel. In 2023, she released The Sands of Time, an album of Lenny Seidel's sacred piano arrangements, which can be found on digital streaming platforms.
